|NHA to provide housing units to 186 families rendered homeless by fire|
The National Housing Authority, through Interior Secretary Mar Roxas ll, is "providing" housing units to 186 families in Barangay San Jose, Roxas City rendered homeless by the March 8 fire, the completion of which are being rushed to comply with the two-month period.
Roxas visited Punta Tabuc and Railway the next day and condoled with the residents there. Roxas brought NHA manager Chito Cruz to the fire scene and talk with the residents so he can feel and see the urgency of their problem, according to Mayor Angel Alan B. Celino.
Celino said he was very much thankful to Roxas for the assistance given.
Roxas asked Cruz if the NHA can finish the San Jose housing project in two months as his "birthday gift" to him.
Also, Roxas brought a P1 million check for the residents courtesy of the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
