Roxas City dubbed fastest growing in the region

As he marked his 58th birthday on May 5 this year, Mayor Angel Alan B. Celino can take pride to the fact that that his years in office as mayor have been productive, earning for Roxas City the moniker "fastest growing City" in Western Visayas.

Roxas City is undergoing the most dramatic transformation in its landscape never before seen in history.

What used to be vast tracks of land now stand imposing buildings with state-of-the-art facilities: home to giant and small business ventures, entertainment and personal development enclaves.

Roxas City has become a bustling metropolis, thanks to the presence of many business establishments and numerous multimillion peso road projects. The City now hosts to several hotels and resorts and new malls, practically giving employment to Capiceños.

The latest to invest here is the Citymall on Arnaldo Boulevard. It is owned by Double Dragon properties.

The mayor noted that the new malls as well as resorts and hotels will contribute significantly to the growth of local economy. During his administration, there are 2,400 new businesses.

Aware of the fast-paced economic development in Roxas City, the mayor vowed to put in place the needed infrastructure facilitate s and government service to further entice investors. He cited DILG Secretary Mar Roxas ll for using his clout to bring more projects to Roxas City and Capiz.

Earlier, Roxas gave 116 million to the City for social and infra projects. When he was DOTC Secretary, he worked out the funding for the upgrading of the Roxas City airport facilities, citing its potentials in the aviation industry. He wants the airport to accommodate "night-rated" flights.
