|Mayor Celino hopes to keep the changes he has effected|
Mayor Angel Alan B. Celino filed his certificate of candidacy for his third and last term as the city's chief executive. The filing was done at the Roxas City Comelec Oct. 14 following the 6 a.m. mass at the Roxas City Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In seeking his last term, the mayor said he hopes to keep the changes he has effected at City Hall. Foremost among these changes is on the attitudinal aspect that resulted in a more "functional" and dedicated City Hall occupants.
Such changes have yielded dividends with the numerous awards, citations and recognitions received by the City. Among these is the Seal of Good Housekeeping from the Department of Interior and Local Government for good and transparent governance. Roxas City also reaped the Hall of Fame Red Orchid Award, and Roxas City is now considered a model in the no-smoking campaign.
The days ahead for Mayor Celino may be less stormy as City Hall now reaps the reward of hard work for good governance.
Quite a revelation for the 54 year-old chief executive who has never dreamed of his present position but was nevertheless rewarded by the people of Roxas City in the last two elections to lead them to a brighter path.
