In light of the massive flooding that affected our City on October 18, 2025, brought by Tropical Storm Ramil, and in the spirit of compassion and recovery, the City Government is issuing this official advisory.

This 3-day suspension is ordered for the following critical reasons:
- ๐ง๐ผ ๐๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ณ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐ While major floodwaters in the city proper have subsided, several areas are still dealing with road closures, landslides, and damaged infrastructure. This suspension ensures that no student or staff member is put at risk during their commute.

To provide ample time for families to clean, rebuild, and rehabilitate their homes and belongings damaged by the floodwaters. As noted in our recent assessments, many of our constituents need to address waterlogged properties and recover from significant losses. - ๐ง๐ผ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ To grant our students and their families a necessary break from the distress and trauma caused by the flooding. This period will allow them to emotionally recover and stabilize in the safety of their homes.
We encourage our teaching personnel to utilize this time for their own recovery and for preparing alternative delivery modes of learning, as guided by the Department of Education’s policies on class suspension during disasters.
We understand that the path to full recovery is long but as one community we will overcome this challenge together. Let us use this time to care for our families, check on our neighbors, and help our City heal.
